#0003 04 JUNE 2004 DC Books -- DC has released a listof its planned book releases for the rest of the year. A few of them interest me...
SUPERMAN: BIRTHRIGHT HC Kurt Busiek and Stuart Immonen's Secret Identity reignited my interest in good Superman stories and the buzz on this is generally good. So I'll probably give it a look.
TEEN TITANS GO! VOL. 1: TRUTH, JUSTICE, PIZZA! TP My kids love the animated Teen Titans series, so these are must-haves in our house.
DC: THE NEW FRONTIER VOL. 1 TP Collecting the first three issues of the spectacularly entertaining series. I think it'll dilute interest in the should-be-mandatory hardcover collection, but DC doesn't seem to have a goddamned clue about the treasure they have in Darwyn Cooke.
SMAX HC This is like a dream come true. I never thought this would get the hardcover treatment, but it really does deserve it. An unexpectedly deep and affecting origin story for Jeff Smax that also serves as a wild romp through the silliness of the fantasy genre. DC/Wildstorm really are to be saluted for the high-quality hardcover line of books they've issued for the ABC titles, a handsome library of some of the best comics created in the past quarter-century. The return of the Five Questions --The Five Questions is back and in a new home, at Comics Newsarama. My thanks to Matt Brady for making room for the feature at Newsarama. I'm thrilled to tell you the first subject to answer the 5Q is Seth, discussing his new books Bannock, Beans and Black Tea and Clyde Fans, and a little about The Complete Peanuts, too! Have a look by clicking here. The Five Questions will appear once a month at Newsarama. I hope you'll check it out!
