The Week in Comics -- Here's a rundown of what I'm picking up at the comics shop this Wednesday...
COMING WEDNESDAY JUNE 9TH
DC COMICS
BATMAN DEATH AND THE MAIDENS #9 (Of 9) 2.95 -- One of the great unsolved mysteries of recent superhero comics, to me, is what went wrong with this series? Part of it, I think, is a lack of focus and an overlong schedule. This could have been a solid four issue mini-series, but at nine issues there were some serious storytelling problems (like that issue-length torture session) and my interest went from high in the beginning to "Eh, I bought the other eight, might as well get this one" at this point. Artist Klaus Janson deserves much, much better projects than this kind of thing.

WALKING DEAD #8 (MR) 2.95 -- Robert Kirkman's best-written series continues chugging along with new artist Charlie Adlard.
AIT-PLANETLAR
DEMO #7 (Of 12) (MR) 2.95 -- I think we know by now that everyone loves Demo, right?
SLAVE LABOR GRAPHICS
STREET ANGEL #2 2.95 -- The first issue of this series was one of the most awesome adventure comics events of the year. It looks like #2 will be even better. Don't pass this up, you'll only regret it later.
FANTAGRAPHICS BOOKS
LOVE & ROCKETS VOL 2 #10 (MR) 5.95 -- Los Bros. Hernandez releasing a new issue of L&R is always cause to celebrate, as each issue is chock-full of some of the best cartooning ever produced and unique, funny and affecting characters. Always a must-buy.
Don't Forget The Return of the Five Questions --The Five Questions is back and in a new home, at Comics Newsarama. The first subject to answer the 5Q is Seth, discussing his new books Bannock, Beans and Black Tea and Clyde Fans, and a little about The Complete Peanuts, too!
Have a look by clicking here.
The Five Questions will appear once a month at Newsarama. I hope you'll check it out!
