who is comic book galaxy?

Loren Di IorioLoren Di Iorio

-- My name is Bruce Wayne. I'm Batman. Or, if you really don't believe me, you may call me Loren T. Di Iorio.

I just turned 22 a couple of weeks back, and you can find me in Toronto, Ontario, home of lots of big buildings and stuff. I work for IBM as a technical writer, a boring job which demands many comics to keep me sane from my already insane self. I got into comics six years ago, right after Batman's back was healed. Books cost...what $2.50 back then? I started off with a couple of Bat-books, and went from there. I'm getting around 10 titles a month, 8 of which are DC, and two from Image. One of those Image comics is not Spawn. The other of those Image comics is not Spawn, too.

Not surprisingly, my favourite books are the Bat-books. Doesn't really matter which ones. Oh, all right: Tec and Nightwing. Favourite TV shows: Stargate, Everybody Loves Raymond, X-Files (I guess), and, well...they cancelled the rest on me.

I also write silly things, like poetry, stories, and the bible. Okay, I didn't write the bible, but if I did, whoa mama, would it be wacky stuff. That is all.

Alan David DoaneAlan David Doane

-- I'm 34, married with a 4-year-old son and 6-year old daughter, and I live in Glens Falls, NY, about halfway between Montreal up north and NYC down south. The combined population of the Greater Glens Falls/Queensbury area is about 50,000. The area supports two major radio companies currently, comprising 9 stations, 8 of which I have worked for at one time or another.

I currently work at a station in Albany, about an hour south of my front door. I dropped out of high school in the 10th grade, but most people around me seem to think I am smarter than them. I have no idea what that is all about, but I auto-didactic in a world full of didactaphobics, for lack of a better term. How else to explain the popularity of bacon, Survivor and Rob Liefeld?

I first got into comics in 1972, when comics were selling for 20 cents. My current faves are Authority, Avengers, Black Hole and anything by my new comics god James Kochalka Superstar (I bought him pizza recently!)

Favourite TV shows: West Wing, X-Files, Buffy, Angel, Futurama

This is not Ed DouglasEd Douglas

-- My name is Edward Douglas. I'm 35 and live in New York City, Chinatown to be exact. I'm a Pisces. I've been reading comics for over 25 years, and most of them are taking up space in storage space and in my tiny apartment to prove it. I buy more comics than I have time to read. I'm not married and don't have any kids (not like I can afford any on my comics budget)...I don't even have any pets...just a small apartment in Chinatown filled with comics.

In my "real life", I'm a computer consultant, technician and programmer, but unlike most of those sorts of boring geeky types, I actually specialize in music recording software so I work with all sorts of artists, producers and engineers. Though I usually only work 20 hours a week, I'm constantly getting calls which distract me from my writing and reviews.

Oh, yeah, I've been a music engineer/producer here in NYC for over 13 years to, though that part of my life has taken a backseat to the computer stuff. I have lots of recording time and credits under my belt, too numerous to mention, but you name an artist, I probably have an anecdote about them.

Brian FlorenceBrian Florence

-- Brian is Comic Book Galaxy's technical, Internet and web advisor. He says: "Many people have been wondering who the man behind the name djbrian is, but keep in mind while you read this that Brian is a very different person depending on how well you know him.

"Enough of this third person crap, my name is Brian. I'm 21 years old, 5'8" (shorty) 128 lbs (skinny), Brown hair and brown eyes, blah blah blah... I am originally from Suffern, New York.

"What else is there to say about me? I'm a warm, sincere, honest person. People say I'm extremely congenial and funny - of course, those are the people who really know me. Like I said in the beginning of this mind spooge, I'm a very different person depending on how well you know me... and no matter how well you know me or think you know me, one thing is always certain -- I am djbrian and there is no other like me!" We at Comic Book Galaxy heartily concur.
